NK5 Unlock Schedule

This article explains how NK5 tokens are allocated across the ecosystem, the unlock schedule for each category, and what distribution participants can expect during 2026. All figures are expressed as a percentage of the Total Token Supply (TTS) of 2,100,000,000 NK5.

Allocation Categories

The NK5 token supply is divided into seven allocation categories, each serving a distinct operational purpose within the ecosystem.

RID (7.5% of TTS) — Tokens allocated to early contributors and ecosystem participants who supported the project at its inception. These unlock on a two-year schedule beginning in 2026.

Reserve (2.5% of TTS) — Operational reserve held by Nektar to support ecosystem stability and contingency requirements. Unlocks over a five-year schedule beginning in 2027.

Nektar Global Rights (5.0% of TTS) — Allocated to support the global rights framework of the NK5 ecosystem. Unlocks over a ten-year schedule beginning in 2030.

Nektar Special Fund (10.0% of TTS) — Reserved for special initiatives, partnerships, and operational requirements determined by Nektar's governance. Unlocks over a twenty-one-year schedule beginning in 2027.

Team (10.0% of TTS) — Allocated to the Nektar team. Subject to a ten-year vesting schedule beginning in 2027. Team tokens are not available on the market during the vesting period.

Innovation Fund (23.0% of TTS) — Held by the International Innovation Agency (IIA) in its capacity as a specialized agency of the World Sports Alliance IGO. These tokens are held in trust and deployed exclusively to fund IIA mandate programs — education, sport, financial inclusion, and innovation infrastructure — in the territories of WSA and IIA member-states, as governed by the IIA's Board of Governors and the United Citizens DAO. The IIA's NK5 holding and deployment schedule is subject to applicable regulatory processes. The deployment framework will be published in the NK5 white paper, which will be made available prior to any public offer of NK5 tokens.

Community Incentives (42.0% of TTS) — The largest allocation category, reserved for community participants, ecosystem contributors, campaign participants, and UNC-DAO members. Unlocks over a twenty-one-year schedule beginning in 2026, distributed monthly to eligible participants.

2026 Distribution

By end of 2026, we target a total circulating supply of 5.6495% of TTS. Distribution in 2026 is driven by two categories: RID tokens allocated to early contributors (target 2.4045% distributed by July 2026, with additional tranches from September onwards subject to regulatory approval of the NK5 white paper) and Community Incentive tokens (0.33% unlocking in November and December).

The IIA's Innovation Fund (23%) remains held in trust throughout 2026 and is not available on the market.

How Community Incentive tokens are distributed in 2026

If you earned points during the Vote 4 the Host Campaign and are eligible to receive NK5, your tokens will be distributed according to a monthly schedule once Community Incentive tokens unlock. Eligible participants receiving 1,200 NK5 may choose to receive 100 NK5 monthly over twelve months, or apply their allocation toward an NK5 Pro account, merchandise, donations, or other NK5 ecosystem services. UNC-DAO members will be able to call a governance vote in 2027 to modify this distribution policy.

2027 Distribution

By end of 2027, total circulating supply is targeted to reach approximately 14.11% of TTS, an increase of approximately 8.46 percentage points. In 2027, additional allocation categories begin their unlock schedules: Reserve, Nektar Special Fund, Team, and Community Incentives all enter monthly distribution. RID completes its remaining tranches in Q1 2027.

2027 marks the beginning of the operational expansion of the Nektar ecosystem: NK5 Chain applications will begin activating, IIA-deployed programs will commence in member-state territories, and UNC-DAO governance will move into its active phase. NK5's utility functions — accessing applications, participating in governance, and engaging with IIA programs — will expand materially as these programs come online.

The Innovation Fund's deployment schedule is governed by the IIA's Board of Governors and the UNC-DAO, and will be published in the NK5 white paper following completion of applicable regulatory processes. Innovation Fund tokens will not be distributed to the open market; they are deployed operationally within IIA mandate programs.

Long-Run Schedule: 2026–2046

The table below shows the annual unlock schedule across all categories over the full distribution period. Community Incentive tokens — representing 42% of TTS — distribute at approximately 2% per year, reaching full distribution by 2046. The total circulating supply reaches 100% of TTS by end of 2046, reflecting the ecosystem's long-run design as a gradually distributed community resource rather than a front-loaded token issuance.

The Innovation Fund column is excluded from the long-run table pending publication of the NK5 white paper. All other allocation schedules are shown as planned.

What Unlocking Means

An important distinction: tokens unlocking does not mean tokens entering the open market. For most allocation categories, unlocking means tokens becoming available to their designated wallet holders for their intended purpose. Team tokens that unlock are allocated to team members for their work — they are not placed on the market at the moment of unlock. Innovation Fund tokens that deploy do so into IIA mandate programs — not into secondary trading. Community Incentive tokens are distributed to participants to use within the ecosystem for governance, services, and program participation.

The distribution schedule is designed to expand ecosystem access progressively over a twenty-year period, matching token availability to the growth of the programs, applications, and governance structures that give NK5 its utility function.

Regulatory Status

NK5 token distribution to campaign participants is subject to completion of the NK5 white paper and applicable regulatory processes. Certain tranches marked with an asterisk (*) in the 2026 table will not be distributed until the NK5 white paper has received regulatory clearance. Updates will be published here and through official ecosystem channels as those processes complete.

NK5 is a utility token issued to provide access to goods and services within the Nektar ecosystem. NK5 is not an investment product, security, or financial instrument. Holding NK5 does not confer any right to profits, dividends, or returns. This article describes the planned token distribution schedule and is subject to change. It does not constitute a prospectus, white paper, or offer to acquire tokens. The NK5 white paper will be published prior to any public offer of NK5 tokens.
